About Jezersko & the region

Jezersko, situated on the far North of the capital of Slovenia Ljubljana, is a small countryside surrounded round and round by high mountains. Jezersko is named after a glacial lake that began to drain in 1348. Today’s Planšarsko lake is a memory remnant of the glacial one. Jezersko became a tourist place already in the Habsburg monarchy. Due to its favourable climate, it is a beloved destination for all nature and mountain lovers, hikers, bikers, families and cyclers. An all-year-round destination with seasonal activities.

Spring, summer, autumn: walking paths through the valley, hiking routes, cycling tours, highland and climbing paths, riding a bike or a horse, BBQ, sports activities.

Winter fairytale: ice skating on the Planšarsko lake, cross-country skiing, sledging down the snowy hills, ski touring paradise, climbing frozen waterfalls and ravines.
Numerous ancestors’ legacy places of interest: 500 years old rural settlements, wooden roofs, frescoes in churches, farm objects museum, 115-year-old Češka koča (mountain hut).

Nature beauties: natural mineral water spring, snow-capped peaks of Grintovci mountains, glacier below the Skuta mountain, Planšarsko jezero (lake), healing climate (Jezersko with its climate used to be a famous eye-disease treating spa).
